Default Doors lock and quickly unlock

Brought my 2011 E-350 in for service yesterday for oil and noticed that while driving back could not lock the doors while driving. If I try to hit the power door lock from either driver or passenger door, the doors will lock and than immediately unlock. This happens with the ignition on, or with the key in the ignition. With the key removed the doors will lock fine.

Service said it was just a coincidence and have to bring back to diagnose. Any ideas what this could be?

I tried disabling the autolock options in the computer but did not resolve.

Tried searching online and came up with nothing.

There may be a problem involving the ign switch info to the body control module. As you know you shouldn't be able to lock the doors with the keys in the ignition except when driving above a certain speed and all doors are closed properly.

Yes I am aware. I am unable to lock the doors with either the key in the ignition or while running and that is whether all doors are closed, I am driving, in park.

Brought the van in to my dealer and he said that it is perfectly normal and the tech could not give me an explanation. Also would not give me an explanation if this was perfectly normal why the autolock will not engage.

That auto lock feature is programmable and anyone with the correct scan tool and knowledge should be able to program that for you.

All they need to do is pull up that feature on the scan tool. The feature can be either "enabled" or "disabled". I suspect it is at this time disabled.

they told me that nothing came up on their scan tool. It shows on the onboard computer that it is indeed enabled and i still followed the guide in the manual to enable it with the door lock/unlock programming.

This issue sounds more than just an autolock or unlock. I simply can not lock the doors at all while driving or while the key is in the ignition.

I had a similar problem. Found out my rear door lock/unlock switch was sticky and causing all kinds of havoc with all the doors. I removed it and cleaned the 5 pins, reinserted and all is well.
