E-150 Wont's Start Up
Hey Guys and Gals,
Complete Econoline newbie here looking for some help. I have a '99 E-150 with 103,000 miles that won't start up.
Code reader pulled P0401 (insufficient EGR flow) and P0455 (EVAP Control System leak) codes. After researching as much as I could and then some, I replaced the DPFE Sensor, it's two hoses, EGR Valve, as well as the Vapor Canister Purge Valve. While replacing these parts I pulled the upper intake manifold and cleaned it up, making sure to cover up the lower manifold while doing so. I drained the coolant, but did not relieve fuel pressure.
Put everything back together the way I found it and now this is happening:
Any ideas?

Can you tell us what the check engine light does or is doing when you are attempting to start the engine?
From the recording , it sounds like it wants to start , but as soon as you let go of the key , it won' t run.
Can you remove one or two spark plugs and tell us if they were wet or dry?

Hi hanky,
. The service engine light is still on while trying to start it up. It's a 4.2L V6 by the way. Pulled two spark plugs from each side, driver's side plug was dry and the passenger side plug was wet.
This hose set (pictured) has one end that was attached to the right-hand backside of the upper intake manifold, another that was plugged into the top of the right side of the engine, and another end that's a boot marked MPC that wasn't attached to anything. Any idea of it's supposed to be connected to something?

Large vacuum hoses usually come off the throttle body (Manifold vacuum) and go to PCV system and brake booster.
There might be other taps on the line to supply vacuum operated valves. There should be a vacuum routing decal under the hood , is it there?
There is a good possibility driver's side of the injectors is not getting power. That can be easily verified with a test light . With the key on there should be power at each injector, can you verify that?
