Default E250 power lock fuse blowing

I have a 2008 Ford E250 with keyless entry. A few weeks ago, it stopped working, I replaced the fuse and it was fine for a while, but then it blew again. The switch inside the back door was pretty rough looking, so I disconnected it since I never used it any
way, and I was good for a week. 2 days ago, it went again, so before heading out this morning, I put a new fuse in, and at my first stop, I went to lock the doors, and nothing…

I’ve put my meter in line and have never seen more than about 8 amps, but my Fluke 23 does not have a peak hold. The fuse is a 20 amp.
  • Fuses 2, 5 and 23 are related to power locks, it’s the #23 fuse that keeps blowing
  • I have Remote keyless entry.
  • when the fuse is blown, neither the remotes nor the door switches work.
  • I have found nothing else effected by this fuse being blown.
  • Does not seem to have any weather connections, like rain.
I’m prepared to spend the time searching for the issue, but hoping maybe someone else has experienced this and could send me on a shorter path of repair.

Thank you in advance for any input.
