E-150 in tank fuel pump connector
2007 e150,I’ve been having problems for a bout 3 days with going out to start the van in the morning and it won’t crank up instantly, couldn’t hear the pump,so of course start at the fuses and work towards the in tank pump,as soon a I opened it up and pulled the assembly out the tank I notice that the plastic electrical connection plugged into the pump is almost gone and the 2 wires running into it are fried
but not a single thing beyond the wires at the connector are burnt

Poor connections with high resistance will build up heat and speed up corrosion.
The better thing to do would be to confirm the pump is not drawing excessive power , which if it is, replacement is necessary.
If current draw is within specification, might only be was a poor connection at the plug..
