Help with '95 E150 fuel tank problem
Hi All,
I'm hoping for some info regarding a fuel tank problem. I took my1995 E150 to the shop because everytime I fill the gas tank I smell fumes. The shop called and said that it needs new fuel tank rollover vent valves and that the part is obsolete. The shop is at a stop until they find the valves (p/n f4uz9b593f). Does anyone know of a source or replacement for these valves since I can't locate any.I asked my local recycler and he cant find any that are in good shape.
Help!

I doubt that the rollover vent valves are defective. If fumes are during a fillup?, that is more likely from a leaky filler hose with some fill leakage to the top center area of the tank. I recently replaced a cracked filler hose, the large ID 12-inch section to the tank, but also found the smaller ID filler-vent hose to be split-cracked at the tank -- BOTH hoses cracked, and more than just fumes -- but it started with excess fumes about 2 years earlier. Also, one hose connected to a ventvalve was nicked, but still, hardly a cause of smelly fumes outside along the vehicle.
