Hello everyone,
Ive got a 99 e250 4.2L 134,000, that runs great except for one little annoyance.
I can let it sit idling for 3-5min and then it will sputter and almost die.
It even did die on me at red light once.
Anyway, I can give it a little gas and it straightens out and idles perfect again for another 3-5min then same thing
I get no CEL light, so Im not sure where to go looking....
any ideas?? EGR maybe?? Im guessing

I have no specific knowlege about your engine but at that mileage it may be time to give it an old fashioned tune up with plugs, wires and coil pack, air filter. Cleaning the MAF sensor and possibly the throttle body, and EGR valve will solve the issue. I would also look for vacuum leaks. You don't need to do all at once. Do one thing and see if it helps. If not go on to the next.
