Alright guys, I've made up my mind that Im just going to replace the carburetor.

The motor hold great oil pressure, it dosent overheat, dosent have any bad leaks, and has 102k miles on it. So I hope it will be worth the 300 dollar investment for a new carb.

Any reccomendations? I am thinking an edelbrock with a manual choke. I can get one for 270 bucks. Will the transmission kickdown bar mount on to an edelbrock ok?

I would go with the Edelbrock 600 butwouldn't give up on the automatic choke. It should come with the kickdown assembly for the trans. It is a good efficient carb.
