OD has a mind of it's own
'94 Itasca Sundancer 500 Class C on an E350 extended cutaway with 7.3 Powerstroke:
Overdrive light on gear shift lever comes on intermittently and truck sounds and shifts rough, (not sure if OD is actually on - because last night at 60MPH, I pushed OD button, and it downshifted to 3rd) Something just feels funky under the hood, and at the rear end. Issue comes and goes. Any help?

The overdrive light flashing is the transmissions way of telling you there is a problem with the trans. I would have to do some checking ,but you can retrieve a fault code from the trans module. Its been quite a while since I worked on these. I had no special equipment ,but I was able to extract the codes and I did have access to a shop manual. Most of the time the problem was in the connections at the MLPS Manual Lever Position Sensor at the side of the trans. Until then, Remove the plug and check the connection pins the green corrosion was the tipoff . After I cleaned them with penetrating oil and reconnected it the problem was gone. Let me know how you make out.. Thanks, hanky
