Default Removing the stock radio from an E-150 cargo van

Hi,

I just bought a 2008 E-150 cargo van, and I would like to replace the factory (very basic) radio that it came with. Can anyone tell me how toremove the radio?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the site..

You'll need the radio removal tools or a fabricated set.. Most aftermarket auto parts house'sNapa/Autozone ect. will have them.. Napa has them for about 7.00 .. You can fabricate them, but the ready made tools have a ball end that helps in the removal/release.. I've even used 4 drill bits gauged close to the hole size, or even a hard wire close to the same diameter.. The 'key' is to insert them just far enough into the lock tabs so to release the tabs by 'pulling the tools outward, and away from each other.. In too shallow, or to deep and the tabs won't release.. The factory made tools areeasier, but generally you can remove the audio unit with some fabricated tools..

I believe my husband used a coat hanger and fashioned it so it would work. It was so easy to remove!
