Replacing Front Doors (trying to go electric...)
So... I've got a 2000 E-250 with manual windows, locks, and mirrors. I'm thinking I can possibly replace the front 2 doors with versions that have all-electric (windows, locks, and mirrors). I think the 97-01 models are compatible but does anyone think this is a possible thing?
I'm guessing I'm going to have some challenges with wiring and powering the systems but I'm just not sure yet. Any thoughts you guys?

Installed PW/PDL kits from Electric Life Power Window Kits in Ford applications rather than the OE parts. Kits work well, but doesn't cover the mirrors..

Well that' certainly an interesting solution!! I was actually just talking with a parts dealer that mentioned that from 1997 to today the doors on the Econoline haven't changed. This means a 2012 van door would fit my 2000. The only problem is the electrical system. I'll need to provide power and a way to control the passenger side door windows, locks and mirror. I think I can pull that off. The only problem is that a pair of replacement doors will cost me about $1,000 (although I can then turn around and sell my original doors for a decent return hopefully). One way or another, I just HAVE to electrify this van!!
