replacing windows on E-150 conversion
hello all, i have 'windows' in my van that aren't windows.. as far as i'm concerned widows need to be transparent. mine are vaguely translucent. almost opaque. for some reason they have blinds.... i'd like to install some sort of open-able windows, preferably large ones. i have saws, and files, and silicone, so i'm sure i could remove and install new ones.. question is where do i get them??? should i attack some hulks in the junkyard??? how easily do they remove??? thanks!!!

it's a 1985 E-150, i'll try to add some pics, i actually saw another ford van today with windows that looked the same size, but were actual glass windows, where the bottom section slid open. mine are opaque plastic, i'm thinking they used to not be opaque, but sort of translucent.

RE: replacing windows on E-150 conversion
I'm in the auto glass replacement biz, also have a lot of experience with conversion van windows. You might have some sort of plastic window material that has turn foggy due effects of weather, road grime, ect on the outside of the "clear" part of the windows. If you intend to keep this vehicle and want more visibility from those windows you might want to look into replacing them with a same-sized unit. If you try installing larger units you'll have a nightmare on your hands you cannot imagine at this point.
Do an internet search for a company called Parkin Industries----they probably made or still make the exact replacement units you have now. Costing about $100 each but they would be direct replacements, requiring nothing more than a few screws, some sealing tape and a lot of time.
Hope this helps.

wow, ok, i didn't think replacing those windows would be a big deal. thanks for the input. i googled that name and came up with nothing. i did see a van with the same sized windows that appeared to be of glass. so they do exist. thanks again.
