If it's appears to be a mechanical issue, it may be that this item in the column has broken.

That is what I said. I had the same problem the poster is having when one broke in my van.

In that regard what did you find wrong to warrant replacement?

Haven't taken apart to check it.
Today's task, try to pair up the computer, cluster, etc. So I can get motor to turn over .

IT WORKS!!!!
CLUSTER AND COMPUTER All paired up.
Turned over, Starts up.
Gauges ALL WORK.
Music gig tonight...perfect timing.
Deal with steering lock later
