Default Stuck thermostat housing bolt

Hello all,

I am replacing a thermostat today on my 04 Club Wagon with the 4.6L. One of the thermostat housing bolts is stuck. I'm not sure if it's corroded or over torqued. I am concerned that if I muscle it too much, I will either round or snap it. I've been soaking it in penetrating oil for about the last hour. I was wondering if anybody is aware of a technique to get this bolt out in one piece. Thanks for your help.

You are on the right track with penetrating oil AND some patience. Let it soak for as long as you can . If you feel it will snap off, best to be prepared with drill and easy out ,if necessary. Heat usually helps, but too much can cause other problems.
