Default TPS testing question

I have a 94 E150 and it misses or feels like it cuts out under a slight load. Mostly when accelerating slightly from 50 to 60mph or climbing a small grade. I have read past posts about the ECM causing the problem, but I want to check out the cheaper causes first, like the TPS.

I have disconnected the TPS and used an ohm meter to read the resistance as I open the thottle. I have found a few open spots throughtout the thottle range. These spots are very small. I was opening the thottle very slowly when I found them. After reconnecting the TPS and starting the engine, I cannot find these dead spots as I open the thottle (very slowly). The engine does not hestitate. Does this mean that those very small open spots are OK or do they only have an effect under load conditions?
