Default Tranny mystery! who can solve it

I recently had my tranny from my 99 E-350 blowing out all the fluid through the front seal. I got a seal kit and changed the front and rear seals, put the tranny back and drove away. The mystery is that if I push the speed past 55 mph the problem indicator light at the end of my gear shift flashes to tell me there is a problem. My fluid level is fine and there is no leaking, and by all accounts everything seems to be running fine except for the blinking light, no slipping and no funny noises. If I put the tranny into nueteral and shut down and restart the engine while travelling down the road it seems to reset something and the light disappears and I can continue on my way indefinitely as long as I don't push my speed.

Any thoughts about this?

yes, and I can turn off the engine and reset the transmission and it will work fine as long as I don't push it and then cause the problem again. usually I will see the indicator light go off, then I can put it into nuetural and restart the engine as I drive and all will be well, but I cannot go much over 100 km/hr.

Is it possible for you to get a code from the ECM ? It would seem the problem is speed sensitive. You might want to check all your plugs and connectors that you unplugged when removing the trans , vss(vehicle speed sensor) for example.
