Default Will not start

OK 2000 econoline conversion van..first incident waife at the mall turns key nothing no click just dash lights as usual ding ding..calls me I miss part of dover race and by the time I get there she has it running...second incident today she trys to start same thing..no alarm light..alarm seems to arm and disarm ok...tried second key just because same thing turn key dash lights ( oil,airbag,etc..) all looks good. moved selector through the gears..tilted the wheel up and down..dash lights dont dim like it would if it were trying to start so no juice is being sent to starter..relay maybe?

TECHMANBD ARE YOU OUT THERE ???

Any current at the RD/LB wire at the starter relay during a start attempt?

I dont know ..I have not checked..I assume it is in the fuse/relay box...just pull the relay and check the voltage at the red with lt blue stripe?

Check the starter motor relay (solenoid) at the right/battery area.. In P/N you should see 12V at the RD/LB wire during cranking or an attempt..

AH at the starter..ok ill give it a check.thanks for your suggestion..wow that means I have to trust the wife at the key while im under the van....[&o] wish me luck

Starter motor relay is in the right hand front corner of the engine compartment near the battery..

my mistake I was thinking the selonoid..ok I remember that part from my many other fords..plus I used to jump the two posts (along with a wire to the dist. i think) to hot wire dads old mustang when i was a kid..thanks again..

OK !!! power was at the SMR when the key was turned..jumped the selonoid and it cranked..so starter is good.. me thinks the SMR is bad ( so did HAYAPOWER )....will replace this afternoon..95% sure thats it..ill post results as soon as I can...

New solenoid fixed it ..9.98 with tax..thanks for your help..
