Default Rear differential problem

Hey guys I’ve got a 2014 Ford Edge 3.5l awd that’s in the shop right now. They said it needs to have a new differential put in which will run me around $2000 my question is when they say the differential are they talking about the power take off unit? So far in my search for parts I’ve not found an actual differential for it. Thanks for you help.

If they are talking about the differential for the all wheel drive unit I would say that is about right.
Maybe you meant to say something else, but a power take off is usually an auxiliary drive unit to operate something like a hyd pump Power take off can be engine driven or driven from the transmission and is usually with independent controls.
