Default Transmission Rebuild Question

Hey folks .. I have 2007 Edge AWD, it's been a great car for the most part. However, I had that mysterious "bang" in the transmission now and then for over a year .. then recently, it started slipping into neutral and banging hard. I took it to the delaer, as I have an extended warranty. Initially they could not replicate. I insisted they keep it until they could, and they did. They got a transmission rebuild approved. They said one piece failed, and then that caused other components to fail. I get it back in a day or two (after two weeks). I don't really know if it was a rebuild or replace.

So my question is this ... anyone have this done, and how did it hold up after being fixed? I'm considering holding on to it (it's in near mint condition, and I have electronic brakes hooked up for the pop up). However, I dont' want to deal with more problems. Shoudl be rebuild/replace hold up well? Another 50K miles or more?

Thanks in advance.

Keep it the 6f50 is a real reliable trans and smooth shifter. They are easy to rebuild so I am sure they got it.

Well.. turns out a key component failed, and that eventually wore out the clutches. Ford covered it all .. about $3.5K. They also replaced a bunch of sensors. It actually runs much much better now .. very smooth

Good ole Ford footing the bill, I am amazed at how well they stand behind their product, the things I see daily they cover and at the mileage at which they do it at is amazing.
