If you had the actual DTC rather than a LFC (lamp flash code) it would better help pin point the trouble area.. 36 (Driver) or 37 (Passenger) can be multiple causes for circuit problems for the air bag/s for circuit resistance high/low or a shorting condition.. If your servicing dealer worked on the system for the same code/s you may have some leverage there if the point is stressed, or they may offer a discounted repair. Do you remember what the fix was on the previous repairs? What area or side, drivers/passenger ect? If it were the same repair each time, then you may be able to make a case, and it may help to offer some direction.

Hey billydsr,
I had the EXACT same problem on my 03' Escape LTD.
It was my battery! About 2-3 weeks after having it flash intermittently and then stay on on my drives, while I kept thinking it was my airbag, I was leaving the mall and the car wouldn't start! My battery had completely died.
Now that I have a new battery put in, the airbag light doesn't come on anymore.
Incidentally, my battery light NEVER came on this whole time....I would highly recommend you change your battery if you haven't changed it in the last few years or so...
Good luck!

I've had issues with 46 and 47 for years, usually a quick jiggle under the seat then restarting the car solves the problem. It's happening more and more as of the last couple of months. The original connectors are still there. Has anybody else had luck cutting soldering the wires?
