Default 2003 Escape

Ok now I really need help! I have my Escape in the shop rightnow and they say there is nothing wrong with it. But if your ABS light is coming on and all the lights a dimming and the radio goes dead with you apply your brakes I would say that there is something wrong. For some reason it did not hold a code and it is not doing it for them at the shop. Anyone out there ever heard of this happening with another car??? I am scared to drive it having had aultinators go out on me before. I don't think there is a scareir thing to happen then going down the freeway at night and all of a sudden you are sitting in a dead car with no lights. Help I really like my Escape and want to be able to drive it with out fear. I am a Care Giver and I need this car.

Sounds like and electrical problem like a short in the brake light system to the ABS system. I hope the dealership figures it out for you!

TURTLE; remove the fuse [TEMPORARILY] from the abs to see if the problem goes away. [of course the abs light will come on] if the other symtoms persist , then the problem is not in the abs unit itself, but if they disappear ..... personally i think ford's abs is a BS system, so i ran my mustang and my ranger without the fuse for the last five years. when i sold the mustang i reinstalled the fuse, with no ill affects. i would NOT of course suggest that you do the same.

problem fixed with the 04;s you probably have rear drums? Ford could not get ABS to work with them
if your off warranty, you could face 1,000's
trade it now, even up to an 04. or 05.
now, some 04;s have rear `drums too, just early though, until they relaized it was hopeless, so find a late one or go 05. ext. warranty of course.
