2008 escape PCM interchangeability
#11
Ok, this is right up my alley. I used to handle all this at the dealership.
You need, before you do anything else, to get a really good parts man to see if the pcm part #'s interchange.
I bet they don't, because it's ussally the suffix that makes the difference. The other thing was the tear tags (SJE1) isn't even close to the other tag of SVE0. The tear tags are the OE calibrant, and they usually (but this isn't written in stone, so I don't want to listen to it) go up with more recent calibrations (i.e., sje1 will become sje2, etc).
The best way to deal with this is to become a tech's best friend and hope he's smart enough to work through this, as it could get really expensive, fast. First the U2150 is a module to module network concern that comes from the VID block not matching. This means the Vehicle Identification Block isn't matching betwixt the PCM, IC, and ABS (yes, even there).
That being said, what needs to happen is that the as built data won't match until it's reset. In other words, you need to program allthe other modules to believe that they are from the car you got the PCM from. Or, you could see if you can reprogramm the PCM to the VID you are using from the car it's in. Either way, it's a lot of work.
After the VID matches in all modules, then you have to program 2 keys (at least), clear codes in the pcm after security access (WITHOUT SHUTTING THE KEY OFF!), then programm the keys, and then scan for codes and see what happens.
There are a few other steps, but this is why I quit the dealership. It only pays one hour and takes 3. But hey, at least we have a happy customer.

If i disconnecr the ABS connector do i have a chance?
Also does the following code prevents the IC from being programmed?
B1870-60- (IC) - Lamp Air Bag Warning Indicator circuit shorted to battery - No Additional Fault Symptom Available for this (DTC), (DTC) present at time of request, (MIL) Off for this (DTC), Test Complete.
I heared that when a two pcms with the same hardware type WILL be interchangeable. Who confirms?
Thanks again
