I've been fortunate enough in the fact that there has been nothing mechanically wrong with my car, however, I have an issue with the paint/decal that's by the windows.
I bought my 2008 Escape in 07 and noticed with in the first year, the paint/decal thats by all four windows have chipped away exposing the shiny silver metal underneath. Looks almost like chipped nail polish at the top of every window. It's not a commonly used area, like the door handles, in fact, that area doesn't really get touched at all. I've taken it to a garage and they wanted $100 a window/decal to fix it & I honestly believe that this is a manufacture paint issue since the damage was not due to abuse to the paint. I've called the dealership I bought it from as well as corp. Ford, both say the issue is cosmetic and can't help me. I was advised to take this to the forum and bring it to the attention of the people "monitoring" these forums, maybe they will help, but I'm not holding my breath.
Is any one else having this issue? I see it all the time on other Ford Escapes in my area, it's become almost a game to check out every Ford Escape that passes me.
