2009 Escape Trailer Wiring Connector

Has anyone found a good non-Ford dealer source for these relays? I find it incredible that you pay how many $100 for a factory installed trailer hitch with wiring in place and it doesn't work unless you fork over another hundo or more for a handful of $0.05 relays. Unbelievable...What were they thinking?
Anyway, I have the receiving pins in my fuse box, just need to find a decent source.
I read on another forum that this relay would work, but can't figure out where to by it.

I have some - never used them
If anyone is interested in buying them off me, let me know and I'll post them on Kijiji.ca (T.O.) under auto parts. I'd ask 1/2 price as I bought them, opened them and found out that I had no seats. The parts guy wont take 'em back because I opened the bag!

The factory harness is a dead end without the relays or fuse box contacts. A better option is a kit that piggybacks on the taillight connectors. The best price is from Amazon.com. An example is the Curt Manufacturing 56067 T-Connector @ $38.11 shipped.

It is a good price. I picked one up since my UHAUL version, which required splices died. This one plugs in and cost less. The Curt seems to be a better kit.

Wiriing Harness`
Keep reading down in this thread...many of us have been in your situation. Ford pulled a fast one and did not supply any connections in the fuse box for many of the Escapes. My 2009 was one of them. They wanted outrageous price for adding them. My solution......went to U-Haul and they ran wiring from engine to hitch...works fine.............$100 bucks later.

no trailer towing package
2009 Escape XLS. If your fuse box does not have the contacts for the relays you are wasting time. The little plug that is hanging by the rear and has no power.Look in the box with a flash light and see if it has contacts where the relays go...otherwise it's the old fashioned way to do this but worse...That is what I am doing...It sucks...If you have the necessary contacts/tow package installed from the factory in the box and need the relays order them online and save money...Thank you Ford for being so considerate...I will never buy another Ford product again and I am 62 years old.Do some research first...You can't just hack and splice unless you want to kill your vehicle...be careful.
