2010 Ford Escape stuck in park
Keyless entry does not work. Had to manually use key.
Car starts fine. Has a few plastic clicks when starting up. Does not click when pressing the brakes.
No brake lights. No radio or its display or clock.
Stuck in park, I can override this by using small screwdriver and pressing the button next to shifter. Then if I start it back up, lights and displays work fine.
The clicking is coming from something mounted under the dash. Has a wiring connector to it when I unplug it the clicking stops but still can get stuck into park still
Picture would be. Imagine the camera is pointing up from my shoe. This is mounted to the right of brake pedal (little higher) and on the center console almost

--Added-- I check what fuses I could find that deal with brakes.. I keep hearing its a interlock solenoid, but cant find a replacement part or any other info on it.

Update
So after more trouble shooting, I found that the part shown above is the heater / ac door actuator. ( the wife said "well my defrost didnt work right a few days ago......)
Took the actuator off, the gear on it looks fine... I looked at the gear the best I could that it snaps into and it appears fine.. but for some reason when turning the car on.. it initially keeps turning about 3 - 5 times causing the click.
I can manually use the actuator, turn both gears and not recreate the popping noise. But once i place it back into and bolt it back in, it continues to pop a few times.
This also happens (the clicking) when i switch from ac to defrost setting.
I went ahead and ordered one from AutoZone, but asked if it continues to click can I just bring it back. Only explanation I have is that maybe the sensor went bad and it just continues to turn and not shut off.
Will find out tomorrow by 3:30 when the part comes in..

day 3?
While reading up more on this door actuator part while waiting for it to come in, I saw somewhere that they need to be programmed or can be programmed. That the easiest way to reset it is remove battery, wait a few minutes. plug battery back on, then leave it on accessory for 5 minutes..
Low and behold when getting to car battery there was so much corrosion it was eating through the terminal... Glad the last oil change my wife got (a week ago) said anything about it.........
so after replacing the positive terminal and still waiting I went ahead and unsnapped the door actuator to look around more, and sure enough 2 - 3 teeth on the gears were popped off and under the small circuit board.
Now just a waiting game for next 2 hours until that part comes in....
