Default Escape ABS Tone wheel

I have a 04 Escape with both front tone wheels broken. One will turn freely and shift cockeyed around the shaft it sits on. The other seems to stay in place. They both have a break in them. The one that stays in place seems to have a tack weld on it holding it in place. Antilock brakes go nuts with the tone wheel crookedlike this. We straightened the crooked one out and test drove it. Seems to brake good with no antilock pulsing. Can't we just tack weld the cockeyed one in place so it does not slip.
Also, how common is this. I have seen quite a few posts about this on the forum. It does not seem like a reasonably priced dealer fix either.

Default Escape ABS Tone Wheel

I have a 2007 Escape with just over 100 000 Km on it. Both front ABS Tone Wheels are cracked and loose on the CV joint, causing the ABS to activate randomly. I presume the reason they became loose is from corrosion under the tone wheel expanding and causing it to crack. Ford is repairing the problem tomorrow, I'll post the results of the bill.
