Default Generic Cylinder 2 misfire repeatedly

2002 Ford Escape XLS 3.0 V6- I have a cylinder 2 mifire code coming up on my car, the cylinder has been replaced 3 times already. Also would the cylinder 2 misfire cause me to have trouble going up hills at 45-55mph. I have to go really fast to be able to get up the hills. Otherwise it will sputter and kick. I will gradually go from say 55 on start out to 40. Ultimately I am loosing power and acceleration.

Yes, the misfire will cause you to loose acceleration as you're loosing power under load. Along with that, the misfire is causing excess fuel to be dumped into your exhaust which will lead to your converter overheating and substrate to melt. This will in turn cause you to loose more and more power as a clogged converter cannot move exhaust freely so your engine will suffocate.

What all has actually been replaced?
