Default I keep getting a fault advising I have a trailer lamp turn signal fault.

I do not have anything hooked to the unit, but keep getting this fault. Have cleaned the trailer plug and not fixed the issue. I have replaced the trailer plug and not fixed the issue. I have plugged into a trailer with the plug and all lights work, and still get the issue.
it is obviously a short in the wiring somewhere?
can I just bypass the electrical Wi-Fi g for the trailer all together? Or somehow cancel this option to tell the computer a trailer is even hooked up? I don’t plan on towing a trailer, and just want the fault to go away and have the turn signal work properly.

Ok, so your complaint is strange that the module says there is a fault but when you hook up a trailer it works correctly, I have not seen that one yet.
Ford made some changes with wiring and programming with the trailer module on 12/5/13, there are different codes for the same fault depending on if it was build before or after 12/5/13.
Here is the wiring diagram for the trailer module. You notice some things are marked early production and late production, that is related to what I said above.
Since you say that you do not plan on towing a trailer, I am not sure this will work but I would try it first and see what happens, pull fuse 26 which is a 40A fuse in the rear junction box. It sounds like there should be a door panel on the pass side trunk trim panel to access this fuse box.

I will try pulling the fuse and see what happens.

Just to confirm, when I hook up to trailer (that does have all of its turn and stop lamps working correctly), my fault code still says that there is a turn lamp fault, even though I know the lights work correctly.

So did pulling the fuse work? I am curious if it would create a different fault message to appear.

Yes, it appears to have worked!
The signal lights on the escape all work and no fault codes now come up.
I did not check to see if the wiring would work when hooking up a trailer, but I would assume not.
If I do decide to pull a trailer, I can put the fuse back in deal with the fault code during the time I am pulling.

Thanks for you help with this issue.

Cool thats what I thought would happen but I wasn't certain. That is correct with the fuse removed the trailer lights won't work at all.
