I have a 2001 6 cylinder with 125000 miles, that has started doing something new. When under load going up even slight hills it seems like it is choking, I take my foot off the gas then apply the gas again and it is ok for awhile. It was doing an intermittent problem before this whereit like stutters, it feels like your going over the strips on the side of the highway, this will happen when your just going along out of the blue. Any help is appreciated.

 

I would replace the MASS AIR FLOW Sensor. The problem your describing sounds like a intermittant MAF sensor. Will the car feel like it is bucking a little than smooth out? IF so deffinatily the MAF sensor.

 

Thanks for the info, that is exactly what is happening. First occasionally it would feel like I was driving over the strips on the side of the highway, then it started with the bucking, I would let off the gas and it would usually smooth right out. thx!
