I have a problem with my heat. it's blowing some what heat but not hot as it should be. I did check the top hoes coming from the radiator and it's kind of warm instead of being hot.

could this be a bad thermostat or clog heater core. is there any way to clean the heater core? I was told I could use CLR to clean it.

Hello and good day to you:

90% of Heater problems like this are caused by a bad Thermostat or a Clogged Heater core.

You can't clean a Bad Thermostat....you need to replace it....and for the Heater Core...you can do a Radiator, and Core Flush...this may take care of this...if it s really bad you will need to replace it.

Start with the Thermo.

Good luck.

I have done all of the above. I did noticed that when I hit the gas the temp goes down. I check the fluid and looks ok but I'm going to check again. maybe that's my problem?

Ouch...this sounds like your Water Pump is going out then....if you have done a Radiator flush, and Core.
Question...As you increase your speed does the Heat go down.

Hello and good day:

Please forgive me....But I took a quick look at your photos, and noticed a few problems right off the bat.
1. That Fuel Filter looks pretty rough, and in need of replacing.
2. Whats up with that Battery...is that some serious Corrosion on the Battery case, and cables??
3.Do you live in a area where there is a lot of dust, and dirt?...Lot of Engine Dirt.
4. Looks like you may have a small Valve Cover leak...where some oil is coming out.

Have you checked to see if you have good Radiator Flow?...and that the Fluid is up to level??
If you did a Heater Core Flush did you do it at the Radiator, or take the Hoses off the IN/OUT Heater core Nozzle ports??

Keep us advise.....sorry one more thing...is the Heater Blower working OK??

The car runs like a champ for the $500 I paid. I hit the gas an it goes. the fan blows great but only kind of warm heat. it doesn't leak at all in the driveway. this is my side car and not my main car but bought due to high gas prices in the chicago land area.

I call this my beater car so it's ok. tomororw I'm going to look behind the radio area at the blend doors. I did noticed today the blowing was only coming from one of the middle vents.
