Hello all. I have a 1999 Escort ZX2 with the premium sound system. The AM/FM receiver stopped working. The cassette player and CD Changer work fine and plays both cassettes and CD just fine but the Radio Receiver quit working. The amp located under the driver seat is working also. I checked all fuses under the dash and under the hood and everything is OK. The on/off control still works with the cassette and CD functions and the display on the radio face works with the cassette and CD and clock function, but does not display any radio receiver function. I am assuming that the radio receiver half of my radio went out but I nor any of my friends, one who has worked at a Ford Dealership for over 35 years have never heard of this happening, usually the display bulb or the output , or everything will go out.
I am planning on burchasing a used one from ebay or a local salvage yard but wanted to see if anyone has ever heard of this problem and if there is something simple I am over-looking before I buy another one.
