Default '92 Escort - Battery Installed Backwards

Prior to the new battery being installed backwards everything worked. Now only the headlights work. Nothing else seems to be getting power. I've checked all the fuses and none of them seem to be blown. Any advice on how to troubleshoot this and where would be the best place to start? Thanx.

Test all the fusible links you can find.

We're dealing with someone that installed a battery backwards...
Fusible links? Where would these be located and what might they look like? Thanks again, but explaining it to me like I were a 6 year old won't be offensive at all. Actually, it would be helpful!!

There are a few different types of fuse links.. One looks like an 'extra thick' wire thats purpose is to burn/go open like a fuse blowing under extreme draw or dead short..Usually their wired/mounted close to the starter solenoid ect.on various cars/trucks.. Then there are fuse link cartridges that plug into the fuse box or even have their own panel at times.. Some are link 'bars'..

I 'believe' that yours has the cartridge type that plug into the fuse panel.. Here a pic of what they look like.. Not sure if it has others..See if yours has this type and look to see (through the window) if its burned.. They are the large ones..
