Default escort 1.8 head to 1.9 block?

I have a 92 escort with the 1.9 4 cylinder in it, and was wondering if the cylinder head from the 1.8 would bolt right to my 1.9 block? Would there be enough clearance? Do the bolts even line up right? I thought this would add a lil bit of performance. If anyone has done this, or knows that it will work let me know. Thanks

Not a chance, two completely different engines. I am pretty sure the 1.8 is a dual overhead cam, your 1.9 is SOHC.

Alright thanks for the help. I just got this car, and know nothing about it yet. I'm use to doing stuff to chevys and thats mainly what I know. Really I don't know much about them either! Just my Z24 that I was always putting stuff on. I knew about people swapping cylinder heads off of the 3400 chevys onto the 3.1 chevys for more power, I was just wondering if it was also possible for the more powerful 1.8 engine. Sorry to sound stupid. Thanks again for the info! = )
