While driving (89 escort lx) the heater fan simply turned off and won't work at any setting. If the vehicle is warm, a small amount of warmth can be felt from the defrost ducts, but no air flow. I can't defrost/defog the windows not to mention it's cold out. Driving with my window down is no longer pleasant!!!

I've searched this site and others and it seems there are a few possibilities. Problem is I can't identify the parts to check. The posts I've found seem to be for newer model vehicles. I see no blue wire on the passenger side near the firewall to check the connection. I am unsure which cables to check to see if they've been knocked off. It is next to impossible to see any cables under there in the first place. I'm not sure what the heater resistor looks like exactly. Is the heater motor in behind the glove box with an orange and black wire leaving it, mounted to the firewall with about 4 bolts? Are certain panels required to be removed to access this stuff? The fuse is fine.

This is frustrating, seems like there is only a couple of possibilities and the fix should be a simple one, yet I'm lost so far.

check the fan connector or the resistor connector one of them tend to melt right under theright dash area
