03 Expedition and Rotors/Brake
I noticed after having all 4 rotors replaced on my 03 last year that the back passenger rotor is not as smooth as the others. Starting to have some groves in it. Checked the brake pads and they need to be replaced. I noticed however that they are worn more than the drivers back wheel set. Any ideas on why the back brakes are getting eat up on one side quicker than the other. Also sometimes when I apply the brakes to stop I feel like that something is grabbing and letting go, like a whobble effect. What is the deal with brakes and rotors on these things? Have a hard time getting the rotor off as well.

RE: 03 Expedition and Rotors/Brake
You could be having a problem with a caliper sticking. That would accellerate the wear on the one that is sticking. Could be slides or piston problem. Did you do a brake job when you replaced the rotors. Also, if the pads need to be replaced already, do you do a lot of intown driving, or just put cheaper pads on it? When you pull the rotors off, the backside of the rotor and facing side of the axle should be cleaned with a buffing wheel to remove any buildup for a smoother stop. Helps eliminate runout on the rotors. These newer vehicles are not like your grandma's car anymore. [sm=mail.gif]

Most of it is highway driving! I have suspected the caliper might be sticking. Anyway to test that or just buy another caliper? Thanks for your help. I have tried to get the rotors off butthey appear to be on there tight.
