Default exhaust studs

Is there anyone who has had luck with replacing the studs on the exhaust manifolds and has any tricks or tips. I have kicked around the idea of drilling out and nut&bolt or just buying new manifolds on ebay for 30 bucks a side, but all that work!

I had 2 broken studs on right manifold. Local repair shop was able to tack weld a nut on the broken piece (after removing manifold). The stud backed right out. It was a clever fix. Don't try to drill it out. It's a steel stud in an alumminum head. You will damage the head. You should not need new manifold either, just gaskets
