Expedition A/C Air Conditioner problem
I have a 2000 Expedition Eddie Bauer edition. Recently the a/c has taken a mind of its own. If we put the a/c on automatic and then set the temp, the air flow will begin shifting from the panel vents to the defrost vents then to the floor vents and so on in a random manner. At one point, the air ceased to flow altogether but that has happened only once. This seems to happen less frequently when manually adjust the fan speed.
Note: I don't know if this had any impact, but I recently borrowed the a/c relay and moved it to a different relay slot so that I could disengage trailer brakes that required the newer 5-pin wiring harness. After the trailer debacle, I replaced the a/c relay and purchased another for the towing slot, so we are back to the original setup there.
Could it be that I need a new relay or is this something internal to the a/c unit?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
PS My other car is a '32 Ford Pickup;the "B" model. It has "2-35" a/c so I never have to worry about it.
