Power seat fuse keeps blowing
2003 Expedition
Driver side power seat fuse keeps blowing, 30A. It blew a day after a new fuse was installed. At 4 bucks a fuse, I don't want to keep replacing fuses. Got to be a short somewhere or a bad motor or something. Where to begin??

Did the seat work at all after you installed the replacement fuse?
If so, feel the seat motor after you try it and if it gets hot , the motor is possibly the problem.
The ideal way to approach this would be to put an amp meter in the line and see how much the motor/wiring is drawing. We know it has to be over 30 amps to blow the fuse. If you then disconnect the motor and move the switch see if you get the same reading or not. If yes, then problem is in the switch /wiring. If the excessive current draw is gone with the motor disconnected , then it is most likely a motor problem.
Last , but not least, check under the seat for something jammed/caught under there, it wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened.
