I'm trying to remove the rear rotors on my 2003 Eddie Bauer. I tried PB blaster and that's not working for anything. So what size sledgehammer and how long should I expect to have to bang? I'm replacing the rotors anyway.

 

The chances are that your rear parking brake shoes will be destroyed also. I use a 32oz sledge to remove them at the shop, and you can pretty much light them up as hard and as long as you need to to break them or get them to pop loose.

 

Hit down on the "hat" of the rotor; i.e., the part that the bolts pass through, instead of hitting the backside of the braking surface. They'll pop right off. Worked on my '03 Expy for 3 hours before somebody gave me this tip, and was done in 1 min.
