What year? I have a 98 that does the same thing. If you pull off the pad that houses the window buttons fronm the arm rest on the door and push up on the wire as you hold your finger on the button they will go up and down. (a real trick while rolling down the road, but I have been doing it for a while now) I tried to pull the connectors out and spray them out to clean them, but not a solution. Crazy how it only happens when it is hot inside the truck. I am going to be taking the truck in soon for some service, and that willmbe something I have them look at. If I get an answer I will get back to you, if you find a solution, please get back to me.

Thanks
JOE

I have had a similar problem on my Ranger. What I have determined is the the heat of the day causes the window glass to expand, thus putting too much force on the window mechanism and binding it up. What I do now is, when I roll up my window all the way, I just slightly back off just a tad so that there isn't full force on the window, which will leave a little growing room for the window when it gets hot. Ever since doing this, I haven't had a single problem with the window not going down. Could be worth a try.
