Default *WEIRD* Electric problem, I think.

What the heck is happening? Ok I shut off my car open the door with keys still in ignition- dinger goes off as normal. When I shut my door though with keys still in the ignition- dinger STILL stays on. That's not all.... I can get the dinging to stop by manually turning off the dome light with the dimmer switch. Also when I shut my door as usual with key out, the dome light stays on, (longer than normal about 15 min.) HELP!

Sounds like the door switch is going bad.

It was a wire in the cluster leading from the car to the door that had just about broke in half. How just one of those wires broke is beyond me. Anyway it was a bit of a bugger to get to cause there is only just so much wire between the cab and the door and it was inside that boot also. I fixed it though and didn't have to find that door switch after all.
