00 xlt cyl 1 misfire
i have a200 xlt 4.0 and it threw a code that said cyl one misfiring i changed the plugs wires and the coil pack and it is still running rough. i put bosch platinums in it. could this be the problem or are there other possibilties. the check engine light will blink when it runs really rough
a buddy of mine told me that the bosch platinum plugs are garbage. but the autopart store said it requires platinum plugs and that they recomend bosch plugs. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME I HAVE BEEN PULLING MY HAIR OUT OVER THIS

Yea. I know it sounds silly , A Sparkplug is a Sparkplug rite , An Bosch is suppose to be a good quailty plug rite. ,,,,, Ford Motor's Hate Bosch plugs for some reason !!!!! I was given the whole dis-similar shock freq. vibration story , Truthful sounded pretty far fetched, But in the end DONT USE THEM IN FORD"S, Try to get a set of MOTORCAFT Plugs,,, Ive been doing this this for rite at 30 yrs now an if theres ONE thing I learned CHEVY - use AC plugs . DODGE - use Champion,, FORD - use MOTORCAFT, An if MOMMA is HAPPY - EVERYONE is HAPPY .[sm=exactly.gif]

Autolites work fine too (they are basically the same as the Motorcraft plugs). Thats what I put in my F-150. They have been in the for 20,000 miles now and they cant be working too bad, my truck will pull 18 mpg on the highway.
I know that where I bought my plugs that guy at the counter said the only plugs he recommends for Fords are Autolites. He says that if you put anything else in they wont work right. I dont know about your Explorer, but my F-150 has to have sparkplugs that are made for DIS (distributorless ignition system). Im thinking that your is the same though...
