Default 02 explorer cutting out

I let my bike at work when I got off due to rain. My wife has a 02 explorer with a 4.0 and we took it to get my bike at work and it was cutting out big time. The tack drops down to 0 when it cuts out and the motor killed once. It has 23,000 miles on it and my last 5 fill ups have been at wally mart. I think I will check the fuel filter 1st for trash or water then put my pressure gauge on and check the fuel pressure, then the battery voltage, then get it scaned by auto zone for codes. What do yall think?

Walmart has gas now

I would monitor fuel pressure then see what is does when it runs like crap.

wally mart is WALLY WORLD! walmart!.. emm you do have a ford, and if this helps or not, i'll let you know, F.O.R.D , fix or repair daily ... its being applied to your situation. if this was happening to me i would definately ask wally world if they had any complaints from others about gas with it maybe containin water, if not that... check fuel filter. yeah.. auto zone or one of the auto places should be able to see your problem with the machine, so give that a try if you dont figure it out.

I checked the battery voltage when I got off this evening and it was 12.2 and went down to 9.8 when cranking and then comes bask up to 14.2 so I think it may be the battery,it's 4 years old. I will try it 1st.

i worked at wal mart for three years and here are the things i dont get their Gas stay away from anthing super fragile like computer mother boards and never never ever ever have them do anything to you car in their service department ever ever sorry if someone works their but come on they dont pay people enough to care a bout your car or you for that matter and those of us who do care cant get in to those department like the tire and lube because we would point out their flaws and relaixe to quickly that we were underpaid for that work and as far as the gas goes well we had 66 complaints in 4 days about peoples cars getting messed up due to the gas at murphy U.S.A even our store managers tahoe started heving problems so the gas thing is a big NO dont do it if you love your car dont do it and as far as the fragile stuff goes man the people who load their trucks they dont care trucks come into wal marts unloading docks looking like someone held a funnel while other people just pured it in i unloaded a truck one time that looke like they shuffled the stuff in ther with ou tcompleting the bridge litterally left pallets of stuff weaved together so thats my thoughts thanks sincerely ferroussphinx
