Default 2003 Explorer rumble

I have a 2003 Explorer, V8, 4X4. After a stop, when I seart moving and turn left or right, I get an ominous rumble and vibration for a few seconds then it disappears. This is not under heavy acceleration. It has been sugestted that this may be rear end clutches. My tires all have even wear and inflation/

It could well be,,

Has anyone serviced the rear axle recently? Reason being,, is that thegear oil gets a 'friction modifier' added thats not part of the lube.. If it were serviced, and the modifier not added with the lube oil it can cause chatter/shudder ect.. There's an openTSB (technical service bulletin TSB 06-4-4) in regards to your axle issue as well.. I can post it if you like.. You might take a look at he fluid fill and see if it contains excessive clutch material, may look darkish brown (or metallic).. If it looks OK and not dark, you might try adding another bottle (Ford XL-3) to the lube fill and see if it helps with your concern prior to a rebuild..
