Default 2010 Explorer PCM repair or replace

2010 Explorer 4.0 I'm pretty convinced the computer on my Explorer is faulty. Raccoons chewed through a wire bundle under the hood that goes into the computer. Someone before me tried to start it. I'm sure some of the wires were shorted between each other. I repaired them all and it ran great. Then eventually it wouldn't run at all. It wouldn't even crank. Checked all fuses. new battery etc. no help. RSC alarm comes on and that's it.

Is there a PCM repair facility anyone can recommend or a source for a used but programmed PCM? Thanks

Before spending a lot of $$$ and not being sure that was the problem, consider either doing the basic tests or have someone with the equip and knowledge do it.
Many times we assume the worst when it can be something simple and inexpensive to correct..

For example, if the coded key has lost it's info some vehicles will not even crank over to start.
I believe a good check by a qualified tech with the right info and tools might be a wise move before jumping the gun and maybe spending a lot of your hard earned $$$ if it may not be necessary. What do you think?
