I got well the OD says 52 thousand something but I know there's more probably 100-200 thousand. It usually happens when its windy out so thats what I balme it on.

it should be in the sensor in your rear-end that causes that. I had some serious problems with that and the PSOM on my 94 f150 XLT 4x4. Mine was in the PSOM as it told the ecm to shift at weird times and such. But if you change your sensor, likely you will be fine. Been a while, but I am pretty sure that was the problem with the jumpy speedo problem. could also be a loose connection too.

Default Check this out

next time you are under your explorer, drop the skid pan under the transmission and on tio of the transfer case toward the back is the VSS ( vehicle speed sensor) unplug the connector and remover the hold down bolt, and work out the sensor. it is gear driven for your year and get a new one. the new one comes without a gear so just remove the clip and gear from your old one and put it on the new one and install it and your speedo should stop bouncing all over the place. Hope this helps.
