98 explorer misfire
Hi, new to the forums.
I brought my 98 2door explorer to the local ford dealership for servicing since it was running
rough with the check engine light on. They diagnosed the problem and said engine was misfiring
and that the coolant was screwing with the spark plugs and the would need to do engine work on
the engine gasket or something else which I forgot. Repair costs run up $1800 and other $800
per port/cylinder parts if cracked or something?
First off. What other solutions are there to fixing this? On a similar posting there is a block seal, but I
don't exactly know that much car stuff? Does this occur alot to the ford explorer with high mileage?
Or could anyone recommend a local repair shop that could fix?
Side question. was there ever a 2door explorer that was not a sportrac?
