Default 99 Ford Explorer oil cooler delete

I’m wondering if you delete the small oil cooler on a 99 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer with the 4.0 SOHC. Is the cooler needed? It’s the small cooler in front of the radiator with two lines that run under the radiator thanks for the advice.

There are a few things our vehicle may run without, but consider this,
If Ford Motor Co could save even 50 cents per car by not putting something like a cooler on it , do you think they would put it on there anyway, doubt it!
Without tracing the lines it could be a trans or power steering cooler and it needs to be there doing it's job.

I traced the lines and it’s a external trans cooler the lines run thru that into the radiator
