Best PSI?

Best PSI?
I have Michelin tires for my 2000 4 door Explorer. I've noticed that all the tires PSI's were different. Looked on the internet and it seems everyone (Ford, tire manufacturer included) has they're own idea about the best PSI. So, I'm asking what do y'all think is the best? It's just used for day-to-day driving.... Thanks.

RE: Best PSI?
Rule of thumb is not to go below the vehicle MFG's specificationaand not over the tire's MAX PSI.
I "PATTERN" my tires when installing new tires. Irun HANKOOK HPW401 P225/75-16 snow tires all year around on my 2004 Freestar. Ford data plate states 36 PSI for front and rear. Tires MAX is 44 PSI. I run 42 PSI in the front and 40 PSI in the rear. Tread runs flat and has even wear all the way across. These tires have about 30,000 miles on them with about 90% tread left on them.
