Default A/C Blowing Hot Air

I have '98 Explorer when i put it on A/C it blows out hot air. it blows cold air on Max A/C. The vacuum valce closes when i turn the Max A/C on but it opens when i turn on the regular A/C. (the vacuum valve is the one located on the heater hose.)

Just need a little help getting pointed in the right direction.

I was just going to post the same thing. I had replaced the vacuum solenoid (heater control) because it was dripping. Mine does the same thing, cold on max, warm on A?C and it has a full charge. If anybody knows it would be great.

My 96 Explorer blows only slightly cool air. Have you had any responses to your problem?

My '03 Explorer AC seems to work OK when I'm driving but when waiting at a traffic light or at fast food drive through air is barely cold. Weather is hot here in Utah right now, don't know if this is normal. Calling dealership tomorrow to explain problem.

I've been having a similar problem and I found a place on here that describes my troubles 100%. Check this out to see if your is similar. I was just told at the dealer that I needed a new heater box. https://www.fordforum.com/m_20532/mp..._/tm.htm#27177

This is the link to the forum page I've been keeping my eye on. Good luck!
