Default Help!

Hey Everyone,

I have a 1997 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer With a 4.0L SOHC Vin Code "E"

For the past year I have had a check Engine Light on and I didnt think much of it because it had A hole in the exhasut and bad O2 Sensors, I personally Didn't mind the lack in performance until one day the vehicle started to have "P0300" and "P0500" Code which I pulled off my Solus Pro Diag tool, There are both codes for Random Misfires in the Cylinders. So I started to get to work on Fixing it. I Replaced the Air box with a performance K&N Cold air intake and a brand new MAF as well as an IAC and the throttle control sensor and throttle body. Than I replaced my exhaust with a Walker Performance Sound FX exhaust and All 4 O2 sensors with Brand new Bosch O2 Sensors. I also ran resistance tests on all the O2 sensors Wires and everything came back great. From there I replaced the Intake Manifold Gaskets and the Fuel injectors, checked for any vacuum leaks and there wasn't any to be seen. Than I checked the resistance for the MAF and IAC and Throttle body sensor it was good. I also checked all the Spark plugs and checked all the Spark plug wires and there was no problems. I than thought that it might just be the computer because it is running fantastic great performance fantastic Idle and no loss in power, but I'm not to sure because when I first got it the guy that owned it before me has the wrong Engine Computer Installed to I bought a brand new one last year and put that one in. So I am at a loss because it is coming up as Misfire on cylinders and 2 O2 sensors running "Rich". If there is anything you can think of please let me know.

Thank you for reading!

Sincerely, Stinger Eddie Bauer

So if you replaced all that stuff why did you not replace the plugs, wires and coil pack? You say there are no problems but ignition parts can hide problems better than a con artist. Once cylinder 2 is actually burning the fuel the rich condition is probably fixed. Does Nr. 2 have good compression?

And next time consider to go from cheap to expensive.
